Things to Do in Greece
Greece is one of those places where the list of things to do keeps growing the longer you stay. The islands alone could fill a month. Below are the activities worth planning your trip around.
Top Activities

Sailing the Caldera
Charter a catamaran from Ammoudi Bay and spend the day circling the volcanic islands. Most trips stop at the hot springs and a quiet cove for swimming. Book a sunset return and you'll understand why people come back every year.

Ancient Sites
Delphi sits on a steep hillside above the Pleistos valley, and the walk up through the ruins earns the view. The Acropolis in Athens is busiest at midday; go early or late and you'll have the Parthenon largely to yourself.

Island Hopping
The ferry network connects dozens of islands, each with its own character. Corfu for lush green hills and Venetian architecture. Milos for volcanic beaches and sea caves. Hydra for a car-free harbour town you can walk end to end in an afternoon.

Snorkelling & Diving
The Aegean is warm from June through October and visibility runs to 20 metres on a calm day. Zakynthos has sea caves and loggerhead turtles. The waters around Milos hide submerged lava formations that divers come from across Europe to see.
When to Go
May and June are the sweet spot: the crowds haven't arrived yet, the sea is warm enough to swim, and the wildflowers are still out on the hillsides. September and October are equally good and often cheaper. July and August are peak season on the popular islands, which means full ferries, higher prices, and midday heat that pushes 38°C.
If you're planning around specific activities, note that the meltemi wind picks up across the Cyclades in July and August. That's great for windsurfing on Paros, less ideal for a calm sailing day. Hiking is best in spring, when the trails are green and the temperatures are mild.
