Beach days on the Texas Gulf

Port Aransas sits at the northern tip of Mustang Island, 18 miles of open beach with a fishing pier, a ferry, and a calendar full of festivals.

Port Aransas is a working fishing town that happens to have one of the best beaches on the Gulf Coast. The ferry runs all day from Aransas Pass, dolphins follow the boats in, and the main drag fills up every weekend with live music and food trucks. Spring brings Whooping Crane season and the SandFest sculpture competition. Summer is full-on beach: surf lessons, kayak rentals, and the Tarpon Rodeo fishing tournament in July. Fall cools things down just enough to make the outdoor concerts and the Harvest Moon Regatta worth staying for.
